GTMS Moves Against Impersonation -Disowns ‘Fake’ Appointments, Threatens Criminal Action

MONROVIA: Global Tracking & Maritime Solutions Liberia Inc. has disowned purported appointments of two individuals as company executives, warning the public against unauthorized transactions and announcing civil and criminal proceedings.
GTMS Liberia Inc. has issued a strong public warning against what it describes as a coordinated attempt to impersonate its officials, falsely use the company’s name and mislead members of the public.
The company, in a statement released Wednesday, categorically disowned the purported appointments of Presley S. Tenwah as General Manager-Liberia and Elvis D. Johnson as Public Relations Executive and Operations Manager.
According to GTMS Liberia Inc., the appointments were allegedly issued by Sahr H. W. Ngegba, who the company said has no official association with the Liberian entity and has no authority to make appointments on its behalf.
The company said, it has become aware of the claims with “concern” and moved swiftly to distance itself from the individuals and the appointments, warning customers, business partners and the general public not to conduct business with the two men in the name of GTMS Liberia Inc.
“GTMS Liberia Inc. categorically denounces these purported appointments,” the company said in its release, adding that Ngegba “is not associated with GTMS Liberia Inc.”
The company further stated that Ngegba does not appear in its corporate structure, staff register or list of authorized officers and insisted that no position bearing the title “Director” is held by him within the organization.
The dispute, however, extends beyond the alleged appointments.
GTMS Liberia Inc. also sought to clarify its corporate relationship with GTMS-UK, a company it said, is currently undergoing liquidation in the United Kingdom.
The Liberian company emphasized that it is “neither a subsidiary nor in partnership with GTMS-UK”, stressing that the two entities are “entirely separate and distinct.”
The clarification appears intended to prevent what management considers the improper association of GTMS Liberia Inc. with controversies surrounding the United Kingdom-based entity.
GTMS Liberia Inc. alleged that the disputed appointments represent an effort to exploit its corporate identity and reputation in connection with GTMS-UK.
“These actions are a brazen attempt to mislead the public and to use the name and reputation of GTMS Liberia Inc. to shield a UK entity now under investigation by British authorities for alleged administrative failures and serious financial irregularities,” the company stated.
The allegations contained in the release have not been independently established in the statement, but GTMS Liberia Inc. said, it is taking the matter seriously enough to pursue legal action.
In its strongest warning, the company urged members of the public, customers and business partners to refrain from conducting any transaction with Tenwah or Johnson while they claim to be acting on behalf of GTMS Liberia Inc.
The company specifically stated that their purported appointments were made by a person who had “no authority to act on behalf of this Company.”
It further described the two individuals as “impostors” and warned that any business dealings conducted through them would not be recognized as obligations of GTMS Liberia Inc.
“Do not transact any business whatsoever with Messrs. Presley S. Tenwah and Elvis D. Johnson in the name of GTMS Liberia Inc.,” the company warned.
“Any dealings with them will not be recognized as binding on GTMS Liberia Inc.”
The warning places customers, contractors, business partners and other stakeholders on notice that the company will not assume responsibility for agreements, financial transactions or other commitments entered into through the disputed individuals.
GTMS Liberia Inc. said, it has escalated the matter beyond a public clarification.
According to the release, the company has instructed the Global Lead Counsel of AFDASA Global to immediately initiate civil and criminal proceedings against Tenwah and Johnson.
The company added that the planned legal action is based on allegations that the two individuals falsely represented themselves as officers of GTMS Liberia Inc., misled members of the public and contributed to what management described as significant operational disruption and reputational damage.
In its release, GTMS Liberia Inc. said, it intends to deploy all legal measures available to defend its corporate identity and protect its stakeholders.
“We will pursue all available legal remedies to protect our name, our stakeholders, and the public,” the company declared.
The development puts the disputed appointments at the center of a potentially broader legal and corporate identity dispute, with GTMS Liberia Inc. seeking to establish a clear distinction between its authorized leadership and individuals it says, have no mandate to represent the company.
For customers and business partners, the company’s statement effectively establishes a cautionary position: only individuals formally authorized within GTMS Liberia Inc.’s corporate structure should be treated as legitimate representatives of the company.
Meanwhile, the company’s warning also signals that the alleged impersonation will no longer be treated as an internal administrative matter, but as a legal issue with potential civil and criminal consequences.
However, Presley S. Tenwah and Elvis D. Johnson were not immediately available for comments; investigation continues!
