MCC Health Director Off To China

MONROVIA: The Director of Health and Social Services at the Monrovia City Corporation (MCC), Ms. Sayatta Kpadeh, has departed the country for Beijing,, the People’s Republic of China (PRC), to participate in a two-week training seminar on Urban Search and Rescue Capacity Building for African Countries.

The training, organized by the International Exchange and Cooperation Center of China's Ministry of Emergency Management, brings together participants from across Africa to enhance disaster preparedness, emergency response capabilities, and rescue operations.

Ms. Kpadeh was nominated by the Monrovia City Corporation under the leadership of John Charuk Siafa. City officials say her participation demonstrates the corporation's commitment to professional development and strengthening emergency management systems.

The seminar will focus on key areas including international search and rescue standards, disaster risk reduction, modern rescue technologies, and practical emergency response techniques.

Participants will also visit major emergency management institutions in China and engage in field studies designed to provide hands-on experience in disaster prevention, mitigation, and response.

According to the MCC, the training forms part of its broader strategy to build the technical capacity of its workforce and improve public safety and disaster preparedness throughout the city.
