WEALA, MARGIBI CO.: Jeety Rubber LLC Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Upjt Singh Sachdeva alias Jeety, has announced plans to expand affordable eye care services across Margibi County.
The announcement follows an eye-screening outreach that benefited more than 100 residents in Baypolu, District #5.
The initiative, organized by Jeety Rubber Health Center in collaboration with Guru Nanak Eye Clinic, aims to improve access to quality eye care in local communities.
Mr. Jeety, as he is known, explained that the initiative was inspired by an eye-screening exercise conducted about two years ago in Weala, where hundreds of patients were examined, with many requiring specialized treatment and surgery in Monrovia.
The experience motivated him and his wife to establish a modern eye clinic in Weala to bring essential eye care services closer to residents.
Mr. Jeety emphasized that the outreach seeks to promote awareness of eye health and encourage residents to undergo regular eye examinations for early detection of vision problems.
He disclosed that screening services are free, while eyeglasses and medication will be provided where medically appropriate, with a registration fee of LD$200.
He added that treatment services would be offered at significantly lower costs than comparable services in Monrovia.
The CEO expressed confidence that Weala could become a major center for eye treatment and medical tourism in Liberia in the coming months, potentially attracting patients from across the country and creating economic opportunities for food vendors, small business owners, and other local service providers.
The Jeety Rubber LLC CEO further announced plans to extend the outreach to other communities across District #5 before expanding to additional areas, including a planned visit to a Salala Rubber camp in the coming week to provide workers and nearby residents with access to eye examinations.
He stressed that communities surrounding the company’s operations remain a priority and announced that food would be provided to individuals who participate in the screening exercise.
Mr. Jeety also expressed appreciation to Chief Tamba, Ms. Cooper, and other community stakeholders for their cooperation in hosting the program at the community town hall.
The initiative underscores the commitment of Jeety Rubber LLC, Jeety Rubber Health Center, and Guru Nanak Eye Clinic to improving access to affordable eye care and encouraging early detection of eye conditions throughout Margibi County.
