LIBERIA,BOMI COUNTY: Scores of youth in Bomi County are now benefiting from computer literacy program by Deacon Telee Brown Giving Back Foundation.
The computer training program was officially launched in Klay District, Bomi County, at a ceremony attended by local officials, community leaders, students and residents.
The Foundation was founded by Deacon Telee Brown, who serves as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO). It is aimed at improving the lives of Bomi citizens, particularly young people, by empowering them with computer knowledge and skills.
Bomi County Development Superintendent, Alfred Zinnah, served as guest speaker for the launching ceremony.
He commended Deacon Brown for investing in his home county, assuring that the Foundation would have lasting impacts on its citizens.
According to Superintendent Zinnah, the Foundation's work will especially benefit the county's youthful population by giving them access to computer knowledge, a skill increasingly important in education, employment, and national development.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deacon Brown described the Foundation as his way of giving back to his County of origin after spending long period of time in the United States of America.
He explained that the initiative reflects his commitment to the development of Bomi County and to supporting young people in the area, many of whom have limited exposure to modern technology and education.
The launch comes as communities across Liberia's rural counties continue to seek greater access to educational resources and digital skills training.
Residents at the ceremony welcomed the Foundation as a positive step toward closing that gap in Klay District, Bomi County.
Local leaders are expected to work with the Foundation as it begins its programs, though details on training schedules, enrollment, and facilities were not immediately available.
The launching ceremony was also attended by several officials including NAYMOTE Partner for Democratic Development, Executive Director, Eddie Jawolo, Ministry of Education Deputy Minister for Planning and Research, Western Region University President and Bomi County Development Superintendent Alfred B.S Zinnah among several local chiefs and county officials.
